Escape and unwind on a magical, remote island

Boutique Accommodation on the Chatham Islands

800km off the southeast coast of New Zealand lies the rugged and beautiful Chatham Islands. Kōpī Retreat is a new, purpose built, fully off-grid home set on 1200 acres of farmland and native bush that overlooks the main township of Waitangi.

Our family is descended from both Moriori and Māori, with John's great-grandfather being the first Moriori to legally marry the invading Māori chief's great-great-granddaughter. The land on which we live and have the greatest respect for has been in our family for many generations.

Our focus is on the restoration of our bush and preserving our fish stocks for future generations. We live off this land, collecting our kai and would love to share with you how this comes from the farm or the sea to your plate each night.

Join on us on our journey and uncover the wonders of life on this stunning remote island.
